1 - How do I access eliving?

You can use this service once you have a broadband connection from eircom. If you don't have an existing eircom broadband connection you can check your availability and sign-up for broadband at www.eircom.ie/broadband If you have an existing eircom broadband connection, you can start to use eliving straight away.

2 - How do I use eliving?

eliving can be accessed online through your broadband connection. All you need is a web browser. Find out more in 'What you need' below.

eliving lets you select files to upload, share, manage or view in a few easy steps. Once you have registered you then download a small application and follow the 3 simple steps to start storing your photos, videos, music or files safely and securely.

Your data is encrypted when it is transmitted and then safely stored in our secure data centre, ready for immediate access by you at any time.

3 - What is eliving extra (€4.99 per month)

eircom Backup Manager is a small software application available to eLiving extra users. Once it's set up, it will run regular automatic back-ups every time you're online, giving you complete peace of mind that your important files and memorable photos are safely stored. After you have completed your first backup, eircom Backup Manager will only send those files that have been changed.

The time required for your initial data backup depends on your Internet connection speed and the amount of data you're storing.

4 - How do I retrieve data?

Simply select the files or folders you wish to restore. You can choose your files online or in the eircom Backup Manager, then just click on download. That's all there is to it!

5 - What can I store online?

eliving enables you store and share all your photos, videos, music (store & play only) and files securely from any broadband connection. All of your personal files are securely transferred and stored in eircoms data centre, protecting them safely in case your PC breaks down or is damaged.

6 - What sort of files can I store and how do I share them?

You can include anything from photos, music and video clips through to spreadsheets, contact details and emails from your home PC. The Automatic Backup Service is Windows 2000/XP/Vista compatible and you can store nearly every file type.

To share files with your friends and family, simply select the share option on each file or folder and then select the people you wish to share with. They will then be sent an e-mail with the link to that file or photo album.

7 - What is Automatic Backup Manager?

With Automatic Backup Manager you can set it to automatically run as often as you want to make sure that your files are always safe. So whatever happens, your photos, music, videos and documents can all be backed up and stored safely for only €4.99 a month

8 - What internet browsers are supported?

The following browsers are supported

9 - How do I use eircom Backup Manager (included with eliving extra)?

To use eircom Backup Manager you need eliving extra.

For the automatic backup service, you will need sufficient space on your PC for the eircom Backup Manager programme, which is approximately 4MB in size. Once installed, the program normally requires about 6MB of memory to run.

  • Windows Vista
Please note: The eircom Backup Manager is not currently Mac or Linux compatible.
